Description
Whether you work in a church setting, non-profit, school, or any place that serves people, you are interacting with individuals that have experienced trauma. One in three women and one in five men have experienced childhood sexual abuse. Minorities and marginalized people have experienced generational and individual traumas based on the color of their skin and other factors like poverty, sexual orientation, and displacement. In this workshop, you will learn the nuances of what trauma is, the guiding principles of trauma informed care, ways that trauma impacts the brain, and strategies for creating interpersonal spaces that offer hospitality and love.
